Ask them a question that is not a yes or no question. Send them something that will most likely get them to do some thinking and send back a thoughtful response. They might be leaving you seen for a number of reasons but I don't know your situation with the person so I can't tell you exactly why but that's what I would do for now.
I think it is A because you are learning that Liz likes hiking. And you know that in the story Liz will be hiking mountains and something is going to happen.
