<span>Mexican Americans living in New Mexico had no representatives in Washington, D.C. to protect their interest for many reasons. One reason was due to their population. Mexican Americans were a minority in New Mexico. Also, New mexico was not a state, it was a territory. Another reason that did not have representation was because the federal government did not have any land in New Mexico, therefor had no interest.</span>
The ppl who lived on the North Africa could easily mine salt, but not gold. They craved the precious medal that would add so much to their personal splendor and prestige.
