In fact there are 3 types of invisible lines that the graph reaches but will never cross. These lines are called asymptotes.
An asymptote of a graph is a line such that the distance between the line and the curve approaches zero as they tend to infinity.
There are: vertical, horizontal and oblique asymptotes.
          For example:
          f ( x ) = 1 / (x + 2)
          Vertical asymptote is : x = -2 because:
            lim   1 / ( x + 2 ) = 1/ 0 = ∞
           x→-2
         Horizontal asymptote is y = 0 because:
           lim   1 / ( x + 2 ) = 1 / ∞ = 0
          x→∞

Solve: 5 (x+2) +2x<br> make sure to show your work
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

5 (x+2) +2x is equal to 7x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the value of this equation you would have to apply the distributive property by changing 5 (x+2) to 5x +10. (When applying the distributive property you will always multiply the numbers in the parentheses by the number on the left of it). Then you would combine like terms by adding 2x and 5x together. You will then have 7x + 10.
