Adding 15 to both sides. In order to get it to the opposite side of the equal sign, you must do its opposite. You can't add 8x to both sides, because the opposite of positive 8x is negative 8x and that's not what they're asking. The opposite of negative 15 is positive 15, so it works. Opposite of positive 3 is negative three, and they're wanting a positive, so it will not work. Adding 2x wouldn't work, because it's already positive..

Answer:

adding 15 to both sides of the equation

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the possible first step in solving the equation 8x+3 = 2x - 15

To eliminate any variable or constant we always do opposite operation

adding 8x to both sides of the equation : Opposite of 8x is -8x, Subtract -8x to remove 8x

adding 15 to both sides of the equation: opposite of -15 is +15 so we add 15 on both sides

adding 3 to both sides of the equation: opposite of 3 is -3, so subtract 3 on both sides

adding 2x to both sides of the equation: opposite of 2x is -2x, so we subtract 2x on both sides

HELP ME PLEASE im begging!!
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

x = 40

Step-by-step explanation:

As the Corresponding angles are equal

4x - 50 = 2x + 30 \\ 4x - 2x = 50 + 30 \\ 2x = 80 \\ \frac{2x}{2} = \frac{80}{2} \\ x = 40 \degree

Hope this helps you.

If two distinct lines intersect, which is NOT necessarily true? A) The lines are not parallel. B) The lines are perpendicular. C
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

B is not necessarily true

Step-by-step explanation:

A) This is always true

B) This is not necessarily true

When two lines intersect, they form angles at the intersection as D says, but that does not mean that the angle will always be 90 degrees as is required for the two intersecting lines to be perpendicular

C) This is always true

D) This is always true

an airplane takes off 12.5 miles south of a city and flies due north at a constant speed of 170 miles per hour. What is the plan
saveliy_v [14]
75 miles/hr* (45/60) hours=56.25. Initial position is -12.5. Add -12.5 to 56.25 which results in 43.75 miles due north.
