Marilyn Lee Cross caused multiple conflicts in this story. Even though she caused problems she wasn't a bad person. The first conflict all started when she stowed away on the EDS ship which the law specifically states that if there are any stowaways the pilot of the EDS must jettison or throw away the stowaway into space. The reason for which you will figure out is that there is only enough fuel in the EDS to carry the cargo and the pilot. Adding any extra weight will cause the EDS to ultimately run out of fuel causing both the pilot and the stowaway to die.

In the story "The Cold Equations", there are several situations of conflict created by Martin Lee Cross. Although it cannot be denied that she caused the problems but she was not really a bad person. The start of the first conflict was due to the stowaway that she put on the shop without notification. It was the rule to throwaway the stowaway from the ship.

The author's attitude toward the topic, characters, and audience of a text is known as _[blank]_. Which option correctly complet
Bad White [126]

The author's attitude is the tone. This sets up mood, which is the reader's feelings toward the text. I often teach these together because they can be so confusing. Syntax is just the arrangement of words, which is often seen in poetry as this is where it is most effective. Diction is simply the choice of words, which is part of tone but not the full definition of tone. C is the correct answer.
