Teddy Roosevelt helped negotiate a treaty between Japan and Russia during the early 20th century. Between 1904-1905, Russia and Japan were involved in the Russo-Japanese War. This was a battle between the imperialist ambitions of both these countries. Their fight over territory in Korea and Manchuria lasted over a year before Roosevelt helped to end this war.
