Answer:

Nitrates increase the growth of algae in surface water bodies, killing fish.

Explanation:

Nitrates are used by algae as a food source and their excessive supply can result into uncontrolled growth of algal biomass. The phenonmenon of excessive growth of algae in a lake environment is known as eutrophication. When the growth of algae keeps increasing, it results into low sunlight penetration in the water body especially in deeper zones. Therefore, organsims inside water will consume all oxygen and the lack of oxygen will result into their death including fish population. Keep in mind that nitrates are not directly toxic to the fish or other animals. Instead, some studies have argued that nitrates are beneficial up to a certain limit.

Which statement explains how ATP and its phosphate groups are related to the energy that is used in plant processes?
Ksju [112]

Answer;

ADP gains a phosphate group to create ATP, which stores energy for making sugars.

Explanation;

-ATP is a molecule that carries energy within cells. It is the main energy currency of the cell, and it is an end product of the processes of photophosphorylation (adding a phosphate group to a molecule using energy from light), cellular respiration, and fermentation.

-ATP is the main carrier of energy that is used for all cellular activities. When ATP is hydrolyzed and converted to adenosine diphosphate (ADP), energy is released. The removal of one phosphate group releases 7.3 kilocalories per mole, or 30.6 kilojoules per mole, under standard conditions.

If a mother is type A and has a child who is type B what are the possible blood types of the father
jenyasd209 [6]

The possible father's blood groups are B, AB.

Explanation:

If the mother blood type of A, and the father blood type is AB, B then the child is B. Each biological parent donates one of their two ABO alleles to the child. The blood types in our body are classified as the four paternal blood types and the four maternal blood types.

The blood type has the 16 combinations of the blood samples. The genetic information from the body is independently inherited to the ABO blood types alleles. In the Rh factor, the genetic information is inherited from the one parent to another.
