Answer :

When Liesel learns that the mayor's wife is cancelling her laundry services, she becomes infuriated and angry. She feels completely betrayed as she believes that Ilsa is giving The Whistler to her out of pity and sympathy for her condition and because she herself does not want to feel bad about the cancellation of the laundry services.

Liesel starts abusing and insulting Frau Hermann and uses the knowledge that she has about her son in order to hurt her.

One day, Rosa entrusts Liesel to deliver the laundry order to the mayor's wife, who immediately recognizes Liesel and invites her to go to the library. Liesel is impressed by the amount of books she finds there and begins to read one, Ilsa assures her that she will be able to return whenever she wants, if what she wants is to read; However, the mayor discovers this situation and expels Liesel from the house and decides not to send more clothes to be washed in the Hubermann house. Rosa is upset but Leslie keeps on having clandestine visits to the mayor's library.
