There are two distinct shapes in this polygon: triangle on top and square on bottom.  Find the areas of them separately and then add together.  Triangle length is 7cm x height is 3 cm (11cm - 8cm). Then divide by 2. Square is 7cm x 8cm.  Solve those two then add together.

andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

2 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: It takes Hank 40 minutes \frac{2}{3} hours to mow a lawn. Penny can mow the same size lawn in 30 minutes \frac{1}{2} hours. Hank and Penny form a small lawn care company and have contracts for 7 lawns of the same size previously mentioned.

To Find: How long should it take both of them working together to mow the  7 lawns.

Solution:

Time taken by Hank to mow the lawn =\frac{2}{3} \text{hour}

Time taken by Penny to mow the lawn =\frac{1}{2} \text{hour}

Total lawns to be mowed =7

Let time taken by Hank and Penny to mow one lawn =\text{T}

\frac{1}{\text{time taken by Hank}}+\frac{1}{\text{time taken by Penny}}=\frac{1}{\text{Time taken by both to mow one lawn}}

\frac{1}{\frac{2}{3}}+\frac{1}{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{1}{\text{T}}

\frac{7}{2}=\frac{1}{\text{T}}

\text{T}=\frac{2}{7}

time taken to mow 7 lawns =7\times\text{time taken to mow one lawn}

                                                   =7\times\frac{2}{7}

                                                   =2 \text{hour}

Hence it will take 2 \text{hours} by Hank and Penny to mow 7 lawns

Chanel‌ ‌has‌ ‌two‌ ‌dogs,‌ ‌Mimi‌ ‌and‌ ‌Honey.‌ ‌
tresset_1 [31]
Start off calculating the total of the dog food Mimi and Honey eat together every day. Knowing 1/2 and 2/4 is the same it might help while adding up those numbers. That means they eat 3/4 + 2/4 = 1 1/4 can everyday. Multiply that by the total days, in this case 60, gives you 75 cans. You can only buy a 3-pack so dividing it by 3 gives you the total of packs she has to buy. That is in this case 25 packs. While every pack costs you $5 that means 25 packs will cost Chanel 25 x $5 = $125. Doing the same but for 29, 30 and 31 days instead of 60 should give you the answer to the last few questions.

qwelly [4]

Answer:

3n + 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Mia is correct

When n= 1 ,  3n + 3 = 3*1 + 3 = 3 + 3 = 6

When n =2, 3n + 3 = 3*2 + 3 = 6 + 3 = 9

When n = 3 , 3n +3 = 3*3 + 3 = 9 + 3 = 12

When n = 4, 3n + 3 = 3*4 + 3 = 12 +3 = 15
