The first answer is not true.

It says that 1 1/3 < -2 1/3, but negative numbers are always smaller than positives. Therefore, this must be the wrong one.

A recipe for sparkling water calls for 1 1/2 quarts of sparkling water and 3/4 quarts of grape juice how much sparkling water wi
Mashutka [201]

Answer: 18 quarts

Step-by-step explanation:

Quantity of sparkling water and gape juice are used in proportion in  the recipe.

Let x=  quantity of sparkling water when 9 quarts of grape juice is used.

Then,

\dfrac{x}{9}=\dfrac{1\dfrac12}{\dfrac34}\\\\\Rightarrow\ =\dfrac{x}{9}=\dfrac{\dfrac32}{\dfrac34}\\\\\Rightarrow\ \dfrac{x}{9}=\dfrac{4}{2}\\\\\Rightarrow\ x= 2\times9\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=18

Hence, 18 quarts of sparkling water is required to mix with 9 quarts of grape juice.

A coin is tossed 20 times with the following results:
Rudik [331]

Using it's concept, it is found that there is a 0.45 = 45% experimental probability of the coin landing on tails.

<h3>What is a probability?</h3>

A probability is given by the <u>number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes</u>.

For an experimental probability, these number of outcomes are taken from previous trials.

In this problem, 9 out of 20 trials resulted in tails, hence the experimental probability is given by:

p = 9/20 = 0.45 = 45%.
