US National forest cover approximately 300,000 square miles. conversationalist want the total square footage of forests to be 30

0,000 (2nd power) square miles away. When I Vanna used her phone to do the calculation, her screen showed 9e+10. a what does the answer on her screen mean? Explain how you know b. E+10 is equivalent to 10^10, so 9e+10 is equivalent to 9*10^10.  300,000^2 is 90000000000 square miles, whereas the US has 4000000.  Therefore, if the national forests were as large as the environmentalist wants them to be, the forests would be larger than the US, which is impossible!  As a result, this goal is not reasonable.

Reed uses 8 pieces of glass per square foot to make a stained glass window. How many pieces of glass will he need to make a wind
il63 [147K]
One square foot is 12in x 12in which means one square foot is equal to 144 square inches.

If 8 pieces of glass = 144 square inches
then let's multiply both sides since 144 x 6 = 864

(8 pieces of glass) x 6 = (144 square inches) x 6
so 48 pieces of glass = 864 square inches

The answer is B 48 pieces

the second term in an arithmetic sequence is 10 and the fifth term is 22. If the first term is a1, what is an equation for the n
Tcecarenko [31]
In an arithmetic sequence, the nth term is the first term + (n-1)* difference
the fifth term=the second term +(5-2)*difference
22=10+3d
d=4
the first term=the second term-the difference=10-4=6
the nth term =6+4(n-1) or  or 10+4(n-2),
