Answer:

Hello, I understand that all these farmers were afraid because these states were taxing the people and the citizens couldn't pay it because they hadn't been compensated for their service, but what difference does it make that a CENTRAL government taxes the people instead of the states. We offered to pay off our debts in corn, butchered meat and other farm goods. But the creditors and tax collectors would take only hard cash. A few farmers had been thrown in jail for failure to pay their debts. We were afraid that when the Court of Common Pleas in Worcester opened again, more would follow. Hope That Helps!

Evaluate the extent to which the United States maintained Jefferson's vision for America (were "Jeffersonians" really Jeffersoni
N76 [4]
The United States adopted quite couple of Jefferson’s ideas.
One being his ideas on the Declaration of Independence; he felt it should be referenced and changed with every generation to keep up with the ever-changing needs of newer generations. This impacts our present day, and is why we have the Census every 10 years.
The second being The Ward System. The Ward System was created by Jefferson, and provided free school, the scholarship system, police, militia, and more. These are still implemented present day.

This is about the extent of my Jefferson history knowledge, hopefully this is enough to help you out!! (I am taking a Political Science class and learned this from it. All real information!)

In the 1970s, the nation experienced an oil boom. How did this affect Louisiana's economy?
romanna [79]

By 1986, shops on Canal Street were closed and windows were boarded up and colorfully painted. Just a decade earlier,

But by the mid-1980s, one in eight workers was unemployed in Louisiana, the highest unemployment rate in the nation. The cruelest impact was on families, as fathers left their children and wives.

One of the biggest hits fell on the small bayou communities that had thrived in the 1970s. In Morgan City, one in four were jobless.

As oil prices dropped – as low as $10 a barrel – some pessimists said Louisiana’s heyday as a prosperous and carefree supplier of energy was over forever. Even if prices rebounded, they said, the Gulf was running out of recoverable oil. But technology proved them wrong, as new deepwater drilling techniques allowed energy companies to find oil and gas in ways that would not have been imaginable just 25 years ago.

PLEASE HELP! I NEED THIS BY 12:30 TODAY!!
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

The 1920s were a period of dramatic changes. More than half of all Americans now lived in cities and the growing affordability of the automobile made people more mobile than ever. Although the decade was known as the era of the Charleston dance craze, jazz, and flapper fashions, in many respects it was also quite conservative. At the same time as hemlines went up and moral values seemed to decline, the nation saw the end of its open immigration policy, the revival of the Ku Klux Klan, and the trial of a Tennessee high‐school teacher for teaching evolution.

The Red Scare and immigration policy. In the first few years after World War I, the country experienced a brief period of antiradical hysteria known as the Red Scare. Widespread labor unrest in 1919, combined with a wave of bombings, the Communists in power in Russia, and the short‐lived Communist revolt in Hungary, fed the fear that the United States was also on the verge of revolution. Under the direction of Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, thousands of suspected radicals were arrested in 1919 and 1920; those that were aliens were deported. Although the Red Scare faded quickly after 1920, it strengthened the widespread belief in a strong connection between foreigners and radicalism. The bias against foreigners was exemplified in the Sacco and Vanzetti trial. Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were Italian‐born, self‐admitted anarchists who, in 1920, were indicted for robbery and murder in Massachusetts; they were found guilty and sentenced to death in July 1921. Their supporters claimed that they were convicted for their ethnic background and beliefs rather than on conclusive evidence. Sacco and Vanzetti were executed in August 1927 after all their appeals were exhausted.
