ANSWER: k = 700

WORKINGS

Given, c(x) = (5.5x + k)/x where,

c(x) is the average cost of printing a book

x is the number of books printed

k is a constant

If, c(x) = 9

x = 200

Find k

c(x) = (5.5x + k)/x

9 = [5.5(200) + k]/200

Multiply both sides of the equation by 200

9 * 200 = [5.5(200) + k]/200 * 200

1800 = 5.5(200) + k

1800 = 1100 + k

Subtract 1100 from both sides of the equation

1800 – 1100 = 1100 – 1100 + k

700 = k

k = 700

Therefore, given that c(x) = (5.5x + k)/x, if on the day when 200 were printed the average cost was $9 per book, the constant, k = 700

To find K, we must use the fact that
 on the day 200 books were printed
 the average cost was $ 9 per book.
 Thus, substituting the values, we have:
 c (x) = (5.5x + k) / (x)
 9 = (5.5 (200) + k) / (200)
 Clearing K
 (200) * 9 = 5.5 (200) + k
 k = (200) * 9 - 5.5 * (200)
 k = 700
 answer
 the value of the constant k is 700

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

A

(m² - 3m + 2) / (m² - m)

we see due to a little bit of experience with expressions and multiplications of expressions that

(m² - 3m + 2) = (m - 2)(m - 1)

(m² - m) = m(m - 1)

so,

(m - 2)(m - 1) / (m(m - 1)) = (m - 2) / m

so, that's not it.

B

(m² - 2m + 1) / (m - 1)

we see again

(m² - 2m + 1) = (m - 1)(m - 1)

so,

(m - 1)(m - 1) / (m - 1) = m - 1

so, that's not it.

C

(m² - m - 2) / (m² - 1)

we see again

(m² - m - 2) = (m - 2)(m + 1)

and

(m² - 1) = (m + 1)(m - 1)

so,

(m - 2)(m + 1) / ((m + 1)(m - 1)) = (m - 2) / (m - 1)

yes, that is the solution.

D

(2m² - 4m) / (2(m - 2))

2m(m - 2) / (2(m - 2)) = 2m/2 = m

no, that is not a solution.

Calculate the area of the given quadrilaterals.
nadya68 [22]

Answer:

dissect the trapezium into a square and triangle. since the triangle is a right angled one the base is 17-7=10cm

the height is found using Pythagorean theorem to be 24cm i.e 26²=x²+10²,x=√(676-100),x=√576,x=24cn

area of trapezium is (1/2)(a+b)h

a is the shorter side and b the longer side

(1/2)*(7+17)24

=288cm²
