Answer: the sum of the masses of the individual protons and neutrons is less than the mass of the stable Nucleus

Explanation:

Nuclei fission involved bonds breaking with the loss of quantity of Energy by the protons and Neutrons

Remember : e=mc2

Therefore, this breakage of bonds result in loss in masses of p and n.

However, in intact Nucleus the energies of the p and n are trapped in the intact bonds holding them together therefore heavier masses than when broken down.

Why are individual chromosomes more difficult to see during interphase than during mitosis?
bogdanovich [222]
In the interphase, they are really thin, just one strand which is only a few atoms wide (very challenging for an optical microscope and not too easy for the electronic one)

Which of the following would be a quantitative observation
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

c. the height of radish seedlings is measured

Explanation:

Quantitative measurements revolve around the quantity of things and exact measurements. The measured height of a radish seedling is the perfect example of that.

Memory technique:

 • Quantitative observations involve quantity (numbers).
 • Qualitative observations involve quality (descriptions, features, i.e. color, smell, shape)

What does the destruction of the amazon forest threaten the whole world
Iteru [2.4K]

c

Explanation:

Deforestation is a particular concern in tropical rain forests because these forests are home to much of the world's biodiversity. For example, in the Amazon around 17% of the forest has been lost in the last 50 years, mostly due to forest conversion for cattle ranching.

NEED HELP ASAP WILL MARK BRAINLIEST!!
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

2Mg + O₂ → 2MgO

Explanation:

Given reaction is:

Mg + O₂ → MgO

On the right side, we have:

1 Mg, 1 O

On the left side, we have:

1 Mg, 2 O

 • Add 2 as a coefficient with Mg on the right side of rxn. (Will make it 2 Mg, 2 O)
 • Now, Add 2 as a coefficient with MgO of the left side of rxn. (Will make it 2 Mg, 2 O)

Hence, the reaction is balanced now!

Final and balanced reaction is:

2Mg + O₂ → 2MgO

\rule[225]{225}{2}

Hope this helped!

Which two systems most directly interact in the fuzzy millipede's defense against ants?
Elanso [62]

Two systems most directly interact in the fuzzy millipede's defense against ants are :

muscular and integumentary

Explanation:

 • The fuzzy millipede, Polyxenus fasciculatus, is found in Texas and is preyed upon by most species of ants.
 • Most millipedes defend themselves with a variety of chemicals secreted from pores along the body, although the tiny bristle millipedes are covered with tufts of detachable bristles.
 • Due to their lack of speed and their inability to bite or sting, millipedes' primary defence mechanism is to curl into a tight coil – protecting their delicate legs inside an armoured exoskeleton.
 • Reproduction in most species is carried out by modified male legs called gonopods, which transfer packets of sperm to females.
 • Millipedes overwinter, so they may hide in cracks or crevices throughout the whole winter and emerge in the spring.
 • These insects live in dark, damp places and feed on decaying plant life, sometimes damaging crops. But they can serve a good purpose too.
 • To protect itself against the ants, it ejects fibers from a tuft located at the tail end of its body. When an ant attacks, the millipede flexes its back end toward the ant and wipes the tufts against it.
