In a water molecule, the oxygen atom and hydrogen atoms share electrons in covalent bonds, but the sharing is not equal. In the covalent bond between oxygen and hydrogen, the oxygen atom attracts electrons a bit more strongly than the hydrogen atoms.

Hope that helped

In the lab, you use a special balloon that is permeable to water but not sucrose to make an "artificial cell." The balloon is fi
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. water will leave the balloon.

Explanation:

As the sucrose concentration is higher in the solution, the water in the balloon, where the sucrose is less concentrated, will tend to leave and try to dilute the outer solution until both sucrose concentrations are equal. But as the water leaves the balloon, the concentration inside will increase, so it will flow outside until both concentrations are equal and not until the outer concentration is similar to the initial concentration in the balloon.

A random mutation occurs and the GGA codon is changed to GGU. What effect does this substitution have on the amino acid being ca
salantis [7]

Answer:

Instead of arginine codon, proline condon would be coded.

Explanation:

GCA encodes codes for glycine while on the other hand codon to GGU, GGC, or GGG encodes for glycine.

This substitution will lead to generation of complementary code “Proline” in the complementary mRNA or DNA strand.

The codon CCT, CCC, CCA, CCG encodes for proline. If this mutation would not have occurred then Arginine would have been encoded in the complementary codon  with base structure of CGT, CGC, CGA, CGG
