Given, Customers pay $4 to enter the pumpkin patch.

And also given, customers pay $3 per pound for the pumpkins.

Given, $y be the total cost and there are x pounds of pumpkins.

The cost for pumpkin per pound = $3.

Therefore, the cost for x pound pumpkins = $(3x)

As the total cost includes the payment for entering the patch also,

So the total cost y = 3x + 4

We have got the required equation.

The equation to model the total cost is y = 3x+4.

To the nearest tenth, find the perimeter of ∆ABC with vertices A(-1,4), B(-2,1) and C(2,1).
swat32

First we need to find the length of each side of the triangle , and for that we need to use the distance formula, that is
d =\sqrt{(x_{2} -x_{1})^2 +(y_{2} -y_{1})^2}
AB = \sqrt{(1-4)^2 +(-2+1)^2}= \sqrt{10}
\sqrt{BC} = \sqrt{(1-1)^2 + (2+2)^2}=4
Perimeter is the sum of all sides.
Perimeter = AB + BC + AC = \sqrt{10}+4 +\sqrt{18}
Perimeter= 11.4

What is the domain of the function?
ratelena [41]

Answer:

Domain: B but should be x > 0

Range: A

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain is the set of all x values. This is seen in the graph as all values on the x-axis which have a value for the function. Since this function begins at the y-axis (where x = 0) and continues right then the domain is x > 0.

The range is the set of all y values. This is seen in the graph as all values on the y-axis which have a value for the function. Since the function curves on the coordinate plane all along the y-axis, it has no restrictions. This means it has all y values as a part of the function. The range is all real numbers.

How do you Evaluate?
slavikrds [6]
How do you evaluate: To evaluate an algebraic expression, you have to substitute a number for each variable and perform the arithmetic operations. In the example above, the variable x is equal to 6 since 6 + 6 = 12. If we know the value of our variables, we can replace the variables with their values and then evaluate the expression.
