Answer:

8 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: the area of a rectangular wall of barn is 160 square feet. its length is 4 feet longer than twice its width.

To Find:  the width of the wall of the barn

Solution:

Area of rectangular wall of barn =160 \text{sq.feet}

Let the length of wall of barn is =\text{l}

Let the width of wall of barn is =\text{b}

now,

length of wall of barn is, \text{l}=2\text{b}+4

Area of wall of barn =\text{length}\times\text{width}

                                 =\text{l}\times\text{b}

                                 (2\text{b}+4)\text{b}

           (2\text{b}+4)\text{b}=160

           2\text{b}^2+4\text{b}=160

           \text{b}^2+2\text{b}=80

           \text{b}^2+2\text{b}-80=0

on factorizing

            (\text{b}+10)(\text{b}-8)=0

 as width cannot be less than zero,

            \text{b}=8 \text{feet}

Width of the wall of barn is   8 \text{feet}

The solution for finding the width of the wall of the barn is as follows:

W + 4 equals length.

<span>Multiply width time length to equal 160. </span>

<span>W(w+4) = 160</span>

<span>w(squared) + 4w equals 160. </span>

<span>W = 10.80 ft</span>

<span>Therefore, the width of the wall of the barn is 10.80 ft
</span>
I hope that helps you.

Answer:

y=-3x-1

Step-by-step explanation:

We can calculate the slope of this line:

Slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (-4-2)/(1-(-1)) = -6/2 = -3

We can pretty much stop here and say B is correct.

A horse that weighs 1 1/4 tons is carrying a 110 pound person, a 15 ounce water bottle, and a 16 1/2 pound basket what is the we
poizon [28]

Answer:

2635.875pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Converting all the units to pounds for unit consistency. Let's convert

1 1/4tons horse weight and 15ounce water bottle to pounds.

According to the conversion;

1 ton = 2000pounds

1 1/4 tons = (2000×5/4)pounds = 2500pounds

Similarly for the conversion of ounce to pounds;

1 ounce = 0.625pound

15 ounces of water bottle = (0.625×15)pounds

= 9.375pounds

The total weight of the horse, rider, and items in total will give;

2500pounds horse + 110pounds person + 9.375pounds water bottle + 16.5pounds basket

= 2635.875pounds
