Answer :

The amount after 1000 years will be, 5.19 grams.

The amount after 10000 years will be, 0.105 grams.

Step-by-step explanation :

Half-life = 1599 years

First we have to calculate the rate constant, we use the formula :

k=\frac{0.693}{t_{1/2}}

k=\frac{0.693}{1599\text{ years}}

k=4.33\times 10^{-4}\text{ years}^{-1}

Now we have to calculate the amount after 1000 years.

Expression for rate law for first order kinetics is given by:

t=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant  = 4.33\times 10^{-4}\text{ years}^{-1}

t = time passed by the sample  = 1000 years

a = initial amount of the reactant  = 8 g

a - x = amount left after decay process = ?

Now put all the given values in above equation, we get

1000=\frac{2.303}{4.33\times 10^{-4}}\log\frac{8}{a-x}

a-x=5.19g

Thus, the amount after 1000 years will be, 5.19 grams.

Now we have to calculate the amount after 10000 years.

Expression for rate law for first order kinetics is given by:

t=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant  = 4.33\times 10^{-4}\text{ years}^{-1}

t = time passed by the sample  = 10000 years

a = initial amount of the reactant  = 8 g

a - x = amount left after decay process = ?

Now put all the given values in above equation, we get

10000=\frac{2.303}{4.33\times 10^{-4}}\log\frac{8}{a-x}

a-x=0.105g

Thus, the amount after 10000 years will be, 0.105 grams.

Let a, b, c, and d be real numbers with a, c 6= 0. Prove that the lines y = ax+b and y = cx + d have the same x-intercept if and
Monica [59]

Step-by-step explanation:

We have got the lines :

y=ax+b\\y=cx+d

Both lines intercept the x-axis in the point :

I = (i_{1} ,i_{2})

In all point from x-axis the y-component is equal to 0.

I=(i_{1},o)

We replace the I point in the lines equations:

0=a(i_{1})+b \\0=c(i_{1})+d

From the first equation :

0=a(i_{1})+b \\-b=a(i_{1})\\i_{1}=\frac{-b}{a}

From the second equation :

0=c(i_{1})+d\\ -d=c(i_{1})\\i_{1}=\frac{-d}{c}

Then i_{1}=i_{1}

Finally :

\frac{-b}{a}=\frac{-d}{c} \\\frac{b}{a}=\frac{d}{c} \\ad=bc

y = ax + b and y = cx + d have the same x-intercept ⇔ad=bc

Slope intercept! Please help! Will mark brainliest.
avanturin [10]

3) y = -\frac{1}{2}x + 3

Slope-intercept form is y = mx + b when m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

b = 2 (line hits y-axis at 2)

m = \frac{rise}{run} or\frac{change.in.y}{change.in.x} so \frac{1}{2} and the line is negative, so -\frac{1}{2}

Write our equation by putting the parts together, and we get:

y = -\frac{1}{2}x + 3

4) y =  -\frac{2}{3}x - 1.67

Point slope form is y - y1 = m (x - x1) when y1 is the y coordinate of the point, m is the slope, and x1 is the x coordinate of the point

y - y1 = m (x - x1)

Finding the slope (same as above) results in -\frac{2}{3}

Lucy’s rectangular garden is 15ft long and 12 ft wide. She adds a right triangle to her garden plan, so that the triangle’s heig
KIM [24]
Okay, so lets break this down.

First of all, we have the rectangular garden with a length of 15ft and a width of 12feet.  We need to find the area of this which is pretty simple.  This would be 15ft times 12ft which is 180ft².

Okay, now time for the triangle.  The way that it words it may be confusing but I can draw you a picture of what it looks like (its a quick draw so it looks kinda bad).

But, for the triangle we are going to extend the 12ft line (shorter side; width) and create a line that is 7 feet long.  Then, we are going to find the midpoint of the 15ft side and connect that with the end point of the triangle.

Since its on the longer side and its the midpoint, the triangle is going to have a base of 7.5ft (half of 15).  Then, the height is 7ft as included in the question.

Now to solve the area of a right triangle, you can use 1/2(bh).  So 1/2 of the base times height.

This is 1/2 of (7.5*7) which is 1/2(52.5) and finally the area of the triangle is 26.25ft².

Now, all you gotta do is add the 26.25ft² and the 180ft² together and you get 206.25ft²
