Can someone please help me with this problem?
GenaCL600 [577]
You need to know and have memorized metric unit conversions. They are easy, you just need to know how many zeros to add.

1 cm = 10 mm
1 m = 1000 mm
1 m = 100 cm
1 km = 1000 m

 (1.) 4m + 3cm = 400cm + 3cm = 403cm
(2.) 3km + 8m = 3000m + 8m = 3008m
(3.) 7cm + 9mm = 70mm + 9mm = 79mm
(4.) 1m + 5cm = 100cm + 5cm = 105cm
(5.) 5km + 5m = 5000m + 5m = 5005m

Do you see that to switch 5km to smaller unit meters you just add the zeros on to the end. Because 1km = 1000m ; 5km = 5000m

You try the rest. let me know if you have any questions.

What is the surface area of the prism
vovangra [49]
Not 100% sure its been a while. but ill try to explain.

so for the box on the top the sides are 10 and 8. the squares area is 80.

or the triangles, the height is 3 inches and base is 8 inches. so 8x3 is 24. but for triangles you divide by two. so it would be 12 for one triangle resulting in 24 for both of them.

now lets combine the bottom two boxes. each side is 10 because 10 on one side and 5+5 is 10. so 10x10=100.
if we take all the values and add them up well get 204.(80+24+100=204.
have a good day

The product of any integer (let that any integer be' x') and '-1 ' will be -

if the integer is positive then the integer will be negetive
x \times - 1 = - x

if the integer is negetive then the product will be positive
- x \times - 1 = x

if the integer is 0 then the product will be 0
as any no. multiplied by 0 is 0

0 \times - 1 = 0
