Answer:

Explanation:

1st) one are homogenous because the have the same kind of force 9 London force ) all the hydrocarbons are nonpolar and have a London force between their molecules

so pentane dissolve in hexane (like dissolves like )

2nd ) CBr4 has a tetrahedral shape its a nonpolar compound (London bond )

but the water is polar molecules has a ( hydrogen bond ) its molecular shape (bent shape) . Both do not dissolve in each other because they have a different kinds of bond so they are not a homogenous solution .

3rd) its a homogenous because the water can dissolve the ionic bonds between the Li ( cation ) and (NO3 -1 anion ).

4th ) here we can say alcohol can dissolve in a little amount why ?

  1. pentane has a London force bond
  2. Alcohol has two different parts first part has OH making hydrogen bond which cant dissolve in the pentane different kinds of bonds ,and the other part -CH3 has a London force bond that can dissolves easily in the pentane
  3. so one part dissolves but the other part can't dissolve so the two compound are slightly dissolves in each other that which mean its not a homogenous solution

How many grams of silver bromide are produced when 505 grams of cobalt (III) bromide reacts completely in the following equation
DedPeter [7]
Mass = 473.2 g
Explanation:
Given data:
Mass of cobalt(III) nitrate = 206 g
Mass of silver bromide produced = ?
Solution:
Chemical equation:
CoBr₃ + 3AgNO₃ → 3AgBr + Co(NO₃)₃
Number of moles of cobalt(III) nitrate:
Number of moles = mass/ molar mass
Number of moles = 206 g/ 245 g/mol
Number of moles = 0.84 mol
Now we will compare the moles of cobalt(III) nitrate with silver bromide.

What type of isotope undergoes radioactive decay?
Dominik [7]

Answer:

All elements with 84 or more protons are unstable; they eventually undergo decay. Other isotopes with fewer protons in their nucleus are also radioactive.

Chromium has four naturally occuring isotopes. Cr-50 (mass of 49.946 amu and 4.35% abundance); Cr-52 (mass of 51.941 amu and 83.
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer:

B) 52.000 amu.

Explanation:

  • An element can have differing numbers of neutrons in its nucleus, but it always has the same number of protons. The versions of an element with different neutrons have different masses and are called isotopes.
  • The average atomic mass for an element is calculated by summing the masses of the element’s isotopes, each multiplied by its natural abundance on Earth.
  • Average atomic mass of P = ∑(Isotope mass)(its abundance)

∴ Average atomic mass of Cr = (Cr-50 mass)(its abundance) + (Cr-52 mass)(its abundance) + (Cr-53 mass)(its abundance) + (Cr-54 mass)(its abundance)

Abundance of isotope = % of the isotope / 100.

∴ Average atomic mass of Cr = (49.946 amu)(0.0435) + (51.941 amu)(0.8379) + (52.941 amu)(0.095) + (53.939 amu)(0.0236) = 52.000 amu.

So, the right choice is: B) 52.000 amu.

What do you notice about the distance between the terrestrial planets compared with the spacing between the gas giants
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

The spacing between the terrestrial planets is less than that between the gas planets.

Explanation:

Since the terrestrial planets which are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars have a distance of 0.4 AU, 0.7 A.U, 1.0 AU and 1.5 A.U respectively from while the gas planets which are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune have a distance of 5.2 AU, 9.6 AU, 19.6 AU and 30 AU respectively from the sun, we can see that the spacing between the terrestrial planets is much smaller than the spacing between the gas planets.

For example, the spacing between Mercury and Venus is 0.7 AU - 0.4 AU = 0.3 AU while that between Earth and Venus is 1.0 AU - 0.7 AU = 0.3 AU.

Also, the spacing between Earth and Mars is 1.5 AU - 1.0 AU = 0.5 AU.

Also too, the spacing between the gas planets is shown below the spacing between Jupiter and Saturn is 9.6 AU - 5.2 AU = 4.4 AU while that between Uranus and Saturn is 19.6 AU - 9.6 AU = 10.0 AU.

Also, the spacing between Neptune and Uranus is 30 AU - 19.6 AU = 10.4 AU.

Thus, we can see that the spacing between the terrestrial planets is less than that between the gas planets.

Note that AU means astronomical unit and 1 AU is the distance between the Earth and the Sun. 1 AU = 1.50 × 10⁸ km
