Prokaryotes or bacteria divide through an asexual mode of reproduction called "Binary fission".
The <em>E.coli</em> divides to produce genetically identical daughter cells which initiate when parent cell elongates which is replicated by the formation of the septum. After the formation of a septum, the cellular component is equally divided into the daughter cell along with the genome which moves to each side of the cell.
