The steps that Martin Luther King Jr outlined for a non violent campaign in his "Letter from Birmingham Jail" were;</span><span>gathering of facts, negotiation, self-purification, direct action.

Explanation; 
</span><span><span>-The collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist.The injustices referred to the discriminatory treatment of African-Americans in the judicial process in Birmingham and the bombing of African-American homes and churches.
</span></span>-Negotiation. He advocated for a "dialogue" between African-American leaders and the leaders of the city to ensure the fairer treatment of African Americans in the city. 
-Self purification.This involved creation of a number of workshops to educate people about nonviolence to ensure that people were able to face violence from others without retaliating and understood the reality of going to jail.
