There goes the playful summer west wind

Silently brushing my cheeks with gentle strokes.

There goes the memory of summer love

So soothing and animated as the shadows.

Here they come and there they swiftly go

Like the ripples of the sudden rain on the pond.

Wish forever is my friend granting my every desire.

Hope life is unending and always blissfully fun,

But here I am all alone again full of agony

When will life ever end and relieve me of this longing?

Simile, personification, irony

Kate is the most wonderful person that has ever existed,

This poem is not enough for all her qualities to be listed.

Kate always speaks her own marvelous, memorable mind,

Yet, she always comes across as nothing but kind.

As strong and brave as a lion is her heart,

Yet her sensibility is shown when she is lost in her art.

Kate is my best friend, she is the Penn to my Teller,

Now that you know how much I love her, will you please tell her?

In this poem, I use hyperbole when I claim that Kate is the most wonderful person that has ever existed. I also used alliteration in "marvelous, memorable mind." I use a simile when I state that Kate is as brave as a lion. Finally, I use allusion when I refer to Penn and Teller (Penn Fraser Jillette Raymond Joseph Teller, two famous magicians who perform together).

What did the rich man wish for in the poor and the rich man in the grimm brothers tale
Blababa [14]
He finally said, “What else should I wish for but eternal happiness, and that we two, as long as we live, may be healthy and have every day our daily bread; for the third wish, I do not know what to have.” The lord suggested that the man might want a new house. The poor man said that it would be nice to have that. The Lord left and the couple was soon surprised to see a brand new house where their old house once stood.

What does the text, To Kill a Mockingbird, suggest to you about the journey to maturity?
Vikentia [17]

Three examples of Jem showing maturity in To Kill a Mockingbird are when he refuses to leave Atticus with the lynch mob, when he invites Walter Cunningham to their house for lunch, and when he protects Scout from Bob Ewell's attack.

One quote that demonstrates Scout's maturity in To Kill a Mockingbird can found towards the beginning of chapter 28, when she walks past the Radley residence at night. Scout tells Jem, "It is a scary place though, ain't it?... Boo doesn't mean anybody any harm, but I'm right glad you're along" (Lee, 258).

The overall message, or theme, in To Kill a Mockingbird is that every human being deserves to be treated with dignity. In the beginning of the story, we learn that children should be treated with dignity.

She shows growth in her maturity by realizing Boo is a generous man that risked his life to save hers. In chapter 30, Scout provides further evidence of her maturity while showing Boo to the front porch.

Scout loses her innocence in To Kill a Mockingbird when she watches the jury deliver a guilty verdict in the Tom Robinson trial, despite the overwhelming evidence that Robinson is innocent.
