It extends for about 350 miles in its north-south stretch; the northern part is known as the Sacramento Valley, and the southern part as the San Joaquin Valley. The two parts come together in the delta of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers.
Western and europeans in general fought each other a lot resulting in superior fighting tactics. Other places did not do this, giving europe a huge edge against everybody.
