Answer:

Flow rate volume per minute =  42 gtt/min

Flow rate volume per minute = 21 gtt/min

Flow rate volume per minute = 83 gtt/min

Explanation:

given data

(1) 1000 mL RL

(2) 500 mL D5NS

(3) 1000 D5W

solution

In next 24 hours 3 IV fluids has to be administered

Flow rate =Total volume × 15 ÷ Total time×60

so ml/hr=Volume÷Time

and  here for (1) 1000 mL RL

Flow rate  = (1000 mL × 60 gtt/mL) ÷ (24 hrs. × 60 min)

Flow rate  = 41.7

Flow rate volume per minute =  42 gtt/min

and

for  (2) 500 mL D5NS

Flow rate = ( 500 mL × 10 gtt/mL) ÷ (4 hrs × 60 min)

Flow rate = 20.83

Flow rate volume per minute = 21 gtt/min

and

for (3) 1000 mL D5W

Flow rate =  (1000 mL × 20 gtt/mL) ÷ (4 hrs. × 60 min)

Flow rate = 83.33

Flow rate volume per minute = 83 gtt/min
