No, they actually have a bit of food stored up in the seed. If you look at a bean, you will find that there is some extra substance in it. That is the energy it uses to start growing its roots and stem.

I hope this helps!

Which of the following statements is TRUE?
erica [24]

"The origin of a muscle is attached to the bone that does NOT move" is true among the following statements.

The origin and insertion of an attachment are the points of attachment. When a muscle contracts, the point of attachment known as the origin remains stationary. As a result, when contraction occurs, the origin bone is the more immobile of the two bones at the joint.

Skeletal muscles have two or more points of attachment to bone, or occasionally to other muscles or tissues. The attachment is said to as having an origin if the location is a bone that is stationary during an action. The attachment is referred to be an insertion if the location is on the bone that moves during the motion.

The triceps brachii has four places of attachment: three origins and one insertion on the ulna (two on the humerus and one on the scapula).

Paraphin [41]

Answer:

No metabolism occur and decrease oxygen consumption.

Explanation:

There is adverse effect of chemical on metabolism and oxygen consumption of the treated seedlings because NADH is very important because it maintains the hydrogen pumping that produces ATP molecules. If NADH is oxidized to NAD, then the metabolism did not occur in the seedlings and due to no metabolism, oxygen consumption is also greatly affected.

Which of the following statements is accurate?
PIT_PIT [208]

C. Useful energy out of a system is always less than the energy input of that system.

Explanation:

The correct statement of the given options is that useful energy out of a system is always less than the energy input of that system.

This is in compliance with the third law of thermodynamics which states that "energy transformation in a system is not 100% efficient".

  • At every stage energy is usually lost when it is transformed from one form to another.
  • There is no machine that is 100% efficient.
  • A machine that is 100% efficient will convert all the useful energy in it to do work and even more.
  • In system energy is usually lost as a result of heat and to overcome friction.
  • This reduces the amount of energy out of a system.
