A lap is 6/5 miles
minimum 15 / 2 miles
(15/2)/(6/5) = 25/4 = 6 and 1/4 laps minimum which has to be rounded up to 7 laps

1 1/5 can be written as 6/5
7 1/2 can be written as 15/2
Let X be the number of laps Kellyn wants to jog to meet her 7 1/2 mile goal:
6/5x = 15/2                Multiply both sides by (5/6), the inverse of 6/5
x = 15(5) / 2 ( 6)
x = 75 / 12
X = 25 / 4, or 6 and 1/4 laps

1. Solve for w in the equation W/5 = 25<br> A.W = 5<br> B.W = 125<br> C. W = 30<br> D.W = 20
vekshin1

Answer: <em>w = 125</em>

Explanation: Since <em>w</em> is being divided by 5, to solve for <em>w</em>,

multiply both sides of the equation by 5.

On the left side, the 5's will cancel

and on the right side, 25(5) is 125.

So <em>w = 125</em>.

A King in ancient times agreed to reward the inventor of chess with one grain of wheat on the first of the 64 squares of a chess
statuscvo [17]
Let's start by visualising this concept.

Number of grains on square:
1   2   4   8   16 ...

We can see that it starts to form a geometric sequence, with the common ratio being 2.

For the first question, we simply want the fifteenth term, so we just use the nth term geometric form:
T_n = ar^{n - 1}
T_{15} = 2^{14} = 16384

Thus, there are 16, 384 grains on the fifteenth square.

The second question begs the same process, only this time, it's a summation. Using our sum to n terms of geometric sequence, we get:
S_n = \frac{a(r^{n} - 1)}{r - 1}
S_{15} = \frac{2^{15} - 1}{2 - 1}
S_{15} = 2^{15} - 1 = 32767

Thus, there are 32, 767 total grains on the first 15 squares, and you should be able to work the rest from here.

Identify the percent of change as an increase or decrease. Then find the percent of change, rounding to the nearest tenth of a p
kap26 [50]

Answer:

-60% decrease

Step-by-step explanation:

60 is the old value and 24 is the new value.

percent change = \frac{new - old}{|old|} x 100%

so for this problem, you can substitute the values given in the formula:

percent change = \frac{60-24}{|60|} x 100% = \frac{-36}{60} x 100% =

-60% (decrease)
