Given:

The given figure is composed of a rectangular prism and a triangular prism.

The length of the rectangular prism is 30 inches.

The width of the rectangular prism is 14 inches.

The height of the rectangular prism is 14 inches.

The base of the triangle is 7 inches.

We need to determine the volume of the composite figure.

Volume of the rectangular prism:

The volume of the rectangular prism can be determined using the formula,

V=lwh

Substituting l = 30, w = 14 and h = 14, we get;

V=30 \times 14 \times 14

V=5880 \ in^3

Thus, the volume of the rectangular prism is 5880 cubic inches.

Volume of the triangular prism:

The volume of the triangular prism can be determined using the formula,

V=\frac{1}{2}bhl

where b is the base of the triangle,

h is the height of the triangle and

l is the length of the prism.

Substituting b = 7, h = 14 and l = 30, we get;

V=\frac{1}{2}(7)(14)(30)

V=1470 \ in^3

Thus, the volume of the triangular prism is 1470 cubic inches.

Volume of the composite figure:

The volume of the composite figure can be determined by adding the volume of the rectangular prism and the volume of the triangular prism.

Thus, we have;

Volume = 5880+1470

Volume = 7350 \ in^3

Hence, the volume of the composite figure is 7350 cubic inches.

Answer:

The Final answer will be 2x^2+5x+2 with remainder 0.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have attached the division for your reference.

Given:

Dividend = 6x^3 + 11x^2 - 4x -4

Divisor= 3x - 2

Explaining the division we get;

Step 1: First when we divide the Dividend 6x^3 + 11x^2 - 4x -4 with divisor 3x - 2 we will first multiply 2x^2 with the divisor then we get the Quotient as 2x^2 and Remainder as 15x^2-4x-4

Step 2: Now the Dividend is 15x^2-4x-4 and Divisor is 3x - 2 we will now multiply 5x with the divisor then we get the Quotient as 2x^2+5x and Remainder as 6x-4

Step 3: Now the Dividend is 6x-4 and Divisor is 3x - 2 we will now multiply 2 with the divisor then we get the Quotient as 2x^2+5x+2 and Remainder as 0.

Hence The Final answer will be 2x^2+5x+2 with remainder 0.

Explain why the commutative and associative properties don't hold true for subtraction and division but the identity properties
Vlad [161]
6 -9 is a negative number (-3) but 9-6 is a positive number (3)

Therefore 6-9 ≠ 9-6 and subtraction is not comutative

Same for division:

6 ÷ 3= 2 but 3 ÷ 6 = 1/2 (the inverse of 2)

so 6÷3≠ 3÷6 and division is not commutative either

Now lets look at the associative properties

(4 - 6 ) -3 = -5 but 4 -( 6-3) = 1 so associative property does not give the same result. Subtraction is not associative

(35 ÷ 7) ÷5 = 1 but 35 ÷ (7÷5) = 35 ÷ 1 2/5 and is not the same answer.
Division is not associative.

7- 0 is still 7 so the identity property works for subtraction just as it does for adding
7÷1 is still 7 so the identity property works for division just as it does for multplication
Note well that the identity property in + and - is 0
but in x and ÷ it is 1

A regular n-gon has an interior angle and an exterior angle with equal measures. What is the value of n?
Lana71 [14]
Wouldn’t this be a square? Then the interior and exterior angles would each be 90 degrees, so I think the answer would be n=4 then.
