In The Crucible (1953) by Arthur Miller, Mrs. Putnam thinks a witch, Goody Osburn, is responsible for the death of her babies.

Ann Putnam, Thomas Putnam's wife, thinks a witch has killed her seven children. She accuses Goody Osburn after Tituba names her to get blame off of herself. Furthermore, she believes Goody Osburn is guilty because she was present at the time of her failed births. Mrs. Putnam is sad and angry about the death of her children and that is what drives her to put the blame on someone for it, even if that person is innocent.

Growing up Asian in America lines 12-14 how does Noda organize ideas
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

Noda organizes the ideas showing that the society's vision for different descendants of foreigners in America is different.

Explanation:

In lines 12-14 of "Growing up Asian in America", Noda shows how citizens' perceptions of descendants of foreigners in America are different. That's because he shows how an American who represents the third generation of a German family, but was born in America is seen in society as an American, that is, he is seen as part of that society. However, this perception is different when it comes to Japanese-American individuals. This is because even though they are part of American society, Japanese-American individuals will be seen as Japanese, someone from outside society and who will carry all the prejudices that American society may have with Japanese and Asians in general.

Temka [501]

Answer:

A The author uses loaded language when he says, “Some of the things we're throwing away are poisoning the Earth and will eventually poison all of us and all living things,”

Explanation:

According to the excerpt from America the Not-So-Beautiful by Andrew A. Rooney, the author talks about the dangers of improperly disposing waste. He tries to convince Americans that they should dispose of their waste properly.

The author uses loaded language to convey his point of view about throwing things away by saying that Americans are "wasteful and we don't want to fix anything, so if something is broken we will just buy a new one". He also says that some of the things "we're throwing away are poisoning the Earth and will eventually poison all of us and all living things".

Loaded language is a type of rhetoric that is used to have an impact on an audience by triggering an emotional response by using strong words or phrases.
