Use your order of operations. Parentheses first. You don't have any exponents so you do multiplication and division next from left to right just don't do addition or subtraction yet. After the multiplying and dividing is complete add and subtract from left to right!!!

Shannon is selling boxes cookies and candy for a fundraiser. She's sold each box of cookies for $5.25. She also sold one one box
defon

Answer:

The minimum boxes of cookies is 39

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ----> the number of boxes of cookies sold

y ----> the number of boxes of candies sold

we know that

The word "at least" means "greater than or equal to"

so

The inequality that represent this problem is

5.25x+8.75y\geq 200

The solution is the shaded area above the solid line   5.25x+8.75y=200

using a graphing tool

The solution is the shaded area -----> see the attached figure

Find out the minimum boxes of cookies needed to sell to reach the goal

assuming only cookies are sold

For y=0

5.25x+8.75(0)\geq 200

5.25x\geq 200

solve for x

x\geq 38.1

Round up

therefore

The minimum boxes of cookies is 39

Calculator
sweet [91]

Answer:

20%

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Subtract starting value minus the final value (decrease)

\$5.75 - \$4.60\\\\= 5.75 - 4.60 \\\\= 1.15

Step 2: Divide the decrease by the original number

1.15 \div 5.75\\\\= \frac{1.15}{5.75}\\\\= 0.2

Step 3: Multiply the result by 100 to get a percent decrease

0.2 \times 100\\\\= 20

Therefore, the percent decrease of the price of paper per package is 20%

<em>Note: If the percentage is negative, it means there was an increase and not a decrease.</em>

Samuel can type nearly 40 words per minute. Use this information to find the number of hours it would take him to type 3.2 × 105
Oliga [24]

The hours it would take to type 3.2 x 10^5 words is 1.33 x 10^2  hours.

<h3>How many hours would it take to type 3.2 x 10^5 words?</h3>

Standard form is used in expressing large numbers in smaller numbers. It is used to transform large numbers into smaller number.

In order to write a number in standard form, the number is written as a decimal number, between 1 and 10 and multiplied by a power of 10.

For example: 1 x 10² is equivalent to 100

The first step is to determine how many words he can type in 1 hour : 40 x 60 = 2400 words = 2.4 x 10³

The second step is to divide 3.2 x 10^5 words by 2.4 x 10³

3.2 x 10^5 ÷ 2.4 x 10³ = 1.33 x 10^(5 - 3)

1.33 x 10^2  hours

If the geometric mean of a and 34 is 6 sqrt(17) find the value of a
Alborosie

Using the geometric mean concept, it is found that the value of a is 18.

----------------------

The geometric mean, of a data-set of n elements, (n_1, n_2, ..., n_n), is given by:

G = \sqrt[n]{n_1 \times n_2 \times ... \times n_n}

That is, the nth root of the multiplication of all elements.

----------------------

In this question:

  • Two elements(n = 2), a and 34.
  • G = 6\sqrt{17}

Thus:

\sqrt{34a} = 6\sqrt{17}

We find the square of each side, so:

(\sqrt{34a})^2 = (6\sqrt{17})^2

34a = 36\times17

Simplifying both sides by 17:

2a = 36

a = \frac{36}{2}

a = 18

The value of a is 18.
