The results of the study may not represent the whole population, especially when 32 respondents came from the same place. It would be more ideal to get hundreds of respondents from each state and of different backgrounds to show that the results of the survey were legitimate instead of the results possibly being influenced by a different environmental aspect.

A retired woman has $180,000 to invest. she has chosen one relatively safe investment fund that has an annual yield of 9% and an
Zepler [3.9K]
Solution:
Let the amount invested in scheme which yields 9% be x and amount invested in scheme which yields 13% be y.
x + y = 180000 --equation 1
0.09x + 0.13y = 18000 --equation 2
Balancing the equations, multiply equation 1 with 0.09 and equation 2 with 1,
0.09x + 0.09y = 16200 -equation 3
0.09x + 0.13y = 18000 --equation4
Subtracting equation 4 from 3,
-0.04y = -1800
y = 45000
Now putting value of y in equation 1,
x + 45000 = 180000
x = 135000
The amount to be invested in scheme which yields 9% = $135,000
The amount to be invested in scheme which yields 13% = $45,000

den301095 [7]

Answer:

The firm's optimal capital structure is 80% Debt and 20% Equity.

The WACC at this optimal capital structure is 10.28%.

Explanation:

Note: See the attached excel file the computation of the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) at the optimal capital structure. Also note that the data in the question are merged together but they are sorted in the attached excel file before answering the question.

The optimal capital structure of a firm can be described as a combination of debt and equity financing that is the beat in which market value of the firm is maximized while its cost of capital is minimized.

Using the weighted average cost of capital (WACC), the optimal capital cost capital structure occurs at a point where the WACC is the lowest.

From the attached excel file, the lowest WACC is 0.1028, or 10.28%. At this firm Market Debt- to-Value Ratio (wd) which is debt is 0.80 (i.e. 80%), and Market Equity-to-Value Ratio (ws) which is equity is 0.20 (i.e. 20%).

Therefore, the firm's optimal capital structure is 80% Debt and 20% Equity.

The WACC at this optimal capital structure is 10.28%.

Taxes on goods with ___________ demand curves will tend to raise more tax revenue for the government than taxes on goods with __
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

The answer is A

Explanation:

Taxes on goods with INELASTIC demand curves will tend to raise more tax revenue for the government than taxes on goods with ELASTIC.

Goods with inelastic demand are insensitive to price. An increase price of the goods for example from an increase in tax on the goods will have no significant effect in the quantity demanded. Consumers will still buy it with an higher. So taxing this goods is a good source of revenue for the government.

Whereas goods with elastic demand are very sensitive to rice. Any slight increase in price will result in a significant decrease in quantity demanded. So government increasing tax on this good will be bad for its tax revenue because consumers won't be it
