Chronic dehydration increases a man's risk of developing gallstones. true or false

Biology
1 answer:
guajiro [1.7K]3 years ago

Definitely true for kidney stones. Not sure about gallstones as they are formed I believe from buildup of fatty waste from hypercholesteremia. Less fluid volume in the body could cause these substances to aggregate in the liver/gall bladder instead of being broken down/filtered and flushed out in the bloodstream and GI tract, so I would say true

Liula [17]
The probability of transmitting both traits to his son is Zero. This is because the son has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome (XX), therefore since the traits are linked to the X chromosomes, it means the son will only be a carrier but will not show the trait phenotypically.

Activated charcoal is given to patients who have ingested certain substanmces because it?
mojhsa [17]

Activated charcoal adsorbs many noxious substances—medical drugs, phytotoxins and poisonous chemicals—onto its surface, preventing their absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.

What is activated charcoal ?

Activated carbon, sometimes known as activated charcoal, is a type of carbon that is frequently used for a variety of purposes, including the filtration of impurities from water and air. It is treated to have tiny, low-volume holes, which expand the surface area open to chemical reactions or adsorption.

 • For some poisonings, activated charcoal is utilised as an emergency therapy. It aids in preventing the body from absorbing the toxin from the stomach. To treat severe poisoning, activated charcoal may occasionally be given in multiple doses.
