It freed the slaves that were part of the usa. The confederates would not be affected unless they lost the war.

2) Group A is the result of the Progressive Era. Direct election of senators is a dead giveaway.
3) The Populist Party, according to some historians, had a close link with the Progressives. This is debatable though.
The main reason why the United States was able to assert itself on the World Stage after WWII was because the US emerged from the war with an incredibly high GDP, thanks mostly to war-time spending. This allowed the US to act as a world leader because so much else of the world had been crippled economically.

Basically they wanted to have the same shape of governmen known as parliament. It used to be different before we became allies with them and helped influence them to what they have become today. Also we became like them as they helped us economically and military as we grew into our own nation
