Read this excerpt about Angel Island, an immigration station in the 1900s. Located in San Francisco Bay in northern California,

Angel Island opened in 1910 to process a wave of European immigrants expected to come through the Panama Canal. But when World War I began, the wave never came. However, immigration from across the Pacific Ocean rose thanks to crises around the world. These included the civil war in Mexico, the Russian Revolution, the massacre of Armenians, the Japanese invasion of China, and worldwide effects of the Great Depression. More than half the immigrants came from China or Japan. In spite of the odds, America still offered the hope for a better future. Angel Island was called the “Ellis Island of the West.” But from the start, it was more like a detention center than an immigration center. The roughly one million immigrants entering the United States through Angel Island were processed but not welcomed.
What does this excerpt explain about this setting?\

Many immigrants arrived at Angel Island during World War I, because the station was located near Europe.

Many immigrants came to Angel Island from China and Japan, because the station was located near the Pacific Ocean.

People from Panama came to Angel Island, because it was located near the Panama Canal.

People from Ellis Island came to Angel Island, because it was called the “Ellis Island of the West.”

The correct answer is many immigrants came to Angel Island from China and Japan, because the station was located near the Pacific Ocean. This is the best answer because people from Asia made up a large portion of the immigrants arriving at Angel Island. The other answers are not good choices because people from Ellis Island did not come to Angel Island. Also people didn't just arrive because of World War I. There were many different disasters, wars, and social upheaval that cause many people to migrate to the U.S. They had expected Europeans to come through the Panama canal during the war, but it never occured.

Answer:

Many immigrants came to Angel Island from China and Japan, because the station was located near the Pacific Ocean.

Explanation:

The excerpt explains that Angel Island was established in order to receive immigration from Europe through the Panama Canal. However, contrary to expectations, this never took place. Instead, the immigrants that arrived to Angel Island were from China and Japan, because the station provided an entrance to the United States near the Pacific Ocean.

The best quote for this is “Under kings you have war abroad; under the Republic you have war at home.” We kow this because the main theme of this short story portrays Paris in complete devastation and the poeple from the provinces fighting and defending the city while inhabitants of Paris don't care about it.

Answer: Being a teacher can be hard but before you become one, you have a little help and time to understand the concept of what you want to become. i would consider to be a math teacher because math is an everyday thing. we use math even if we don't know that we are. i would accomplish this goal by studying the things i would need, or have to become the type of teacher i want. i will pay attention during classes even if they aren't what i could have imagined. as said before being a teacher can be hard and stressful but as long as we try hard then it won't seem that way anymore.

Explanation:

just express what you would desire. writing can be passionate if you want it that way. writing can be dull. we are all good writers we just have to find what lights our match. writing brings some people into a good place. writing can help us escape our problems sometimes. but most of all writing is within you. it can help clear your head when your not able to solve a problem. it soothes some people so remember when your writing a paragraph or more give it all you got.
