Reena has 12 more dimes than she does quarters. If Reena has a total of 28 coins, how many quarters, qq, and how many dimes, dd,
erastovalidia [21]
Q = d - 12
q = 28 - d

d - 12 = 28 - d
d + d = 28 + 12
2d = 40
d = 40/2
d = 20 <== 20 dimes

q = d - 12
q = 20 - 12
q = 8 <== 8 quarters

iren [92.7K]
Hello!

You have to put the numbers in for the variables in the equation

\frac{7b - 12}{2ac}

Put the numbers in

\frac{7(4) - 12}{4(-2)(7)}

Combine like terms

\frac{28 - 12}{-56}

\frac{16}{-56}

The is is \frac{16}{-56} or about -0.29

Hope this help!
