Mrs. Hall records the heights of 50 students in a spreadsheet. The mean height is 68 inches. After looking at the data again, sh

e realized that two of the 50 observations were outliers that must have been typos, 82 and 86 inches. She deleted these two observations. What is the new mean, rounded to the nearest hundredth?

67.3 repeating. You multiply 68 times 50, subtract 82 and 86, them divide by 48. If that doesn't work, try dividing by 50. That should work.

68 × 50 = 3400 (combined height of the class)
3400-(82+86)=3232 (combined height without outliers)
3232÷48=67\frac{1}{3}inches

Anettt [7]
If a third plane could be drawn which contains both lines a and b, then lines a and b must be parallel. <span>if two lines do not intersect on the same plane, they are parallel. Furthermore, if a line is in a plane and another line is in a parallel plane, you cannot draw another plane </span><span>which contains both lines a and b, only if the lines are parallel.</span>

The starting salary for a computer programmer major has a mean of $39,269 and a standard deviation of $2550. The probability tha
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

The probability that a randomly selected programmer major received a salary less than 38000 is 0,3085

Step-by-step explanation:

We will assume that the salaries are Normally distributed. Lets call X the salary of a random major programmer in dollars. We want the pprobability of X being less than 38000. For it, we will standarize X. Lets call W the standarization, given by the formula

W = \frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}=\frac{X-39269}{2550}

Lets denote \phi the cumulative distribution function of the standard normal variable W. The values of \phi are well known and they can be found in the attached file. Now, lets calcualte the probability of X being less than 38000 using \phi

P(X

Since the density function of a standard normal random variable is symmetric, then \phi(-0.50) = 1-\phi(0.50) = 1-0.6915 = 0.3085

The probability that a randomly selected programmer major received a salary less than 38000 is 0,3085.
