Among the problems that militarism causes we can cite the idea that guns are the solution to any political impasse. Thus, any problem of frontier, territorial dispute or diplomatic discussion can lead (as it did in the last century) in armed conflicts. Countries were less likely to use diplomacy to solve conflict.

Nationalism and imperialism were major factors to the world war 1. that lead to some conflicts between nations. imperialism also contributed to start world war 1 because the European nations attacking and conquering different areas of Africa and Euro nations attacking other Euro nations for African Territory.
