1. Solve
8 + 4 = -5 + 7
12 = 2

Obviously 12 doesn't equal 2 so the equation is false. Here are the definitions:
True: The equation is true.
Example: 2 =2

False: The equation is false or not true.
Example: -2 = 2

Open: The equation is true or false depending on what the variable is.
Example: 2x = 2

What is the percent of change from 35 to 62? round to the nearest percent.
Leona [35]

In order to change from 35 to 62, we have to add 27. So, the question becomes: which percentage of 35 is 27?

To answer this question, we set this simple equation

27 = 35\cdot\dfrac{x}{100}

And solving for x we have

x = \dfrac{2700}{35} \approx 77.14

So, if you change from 35 to 62, you have an increase of about 77%

A waitress sold 10 ribeye steak dinners and 18 grilled salmon dinners, totaling $590.39 on a particular day. anither day she sol
Len [333]

Answer:

   a) The cost of ribeye steak dinners is $ 16.96.

   b) The cost of grilled salmon dinners is $ 23.37.

Explanation:

 Let the cost for ribeye steak dinners  be m and cost for grilled salmon dinners  be n.

 A waitress sold 10 ribeye steak dinners and 18 grilled salmon dinners, totaling $590.39 on a particular day.

So, we have

         10 m + 18 n = 590.39 -------equation 1

Another day she sold 22 ribeye steak dinners and 9 grilled salmon dinners, totaling $583.49

So, we have

         22 m + 9 n = 583.49 -------equation 2

 equation 2 x 2

       44 m + 18 n = 1166.98 -------equation 3

 equation 3 - equation 1

        44 m + 18 n - (  10 m + 18 n ) = 1166.98 - 590.39

         m = 16.96 $

  Substituting in equation 1

        22 x 16.96 + 9 n = 583.49

          n = 23.37 $

   a) The cost of ribeye steak dinners is $ 16.96.

   b) The cost of grilled salmon dinners is $ 23.37.

A NUMBER , TRIPLE THAT NUMBER , AND 12 ARE ADDED THE RESULT IS 32
liraira [26]
If you want to find out what that number is, then let's call it n
n + 3n (Three times the number) + 12 = 32
Simplify
4n + 12 = 32
Subtract 12 from each side
4n = 20
Divide each side by 4
n = 5
