How do you explain how you convert a decimal?

Mathematics

6 0
For example if we have 7/10 we have one 0 in the denominator so we move the decimal spot 1 to the left

So:
7.0 becomes 0.70 or .7

To make a decimal into a fraction:

0.32

Just add two zeros to the right and that means 2 0's will be added in the denominator
so:

0.32
32.0/100 or 32/100

Hope that helps :)

What is the general equation of a cosine function with an amplitude of 3, a period of 4 pi, and a horizontal shift of negative p
yanalaym [24]

The general equation of a cosine function with an amplitude of 3, a period of 4 π, and a horizontal shift of negative π is f(x) =3cos(0.5x+\pi ).

<h3>What is a function?</h3>

A function is a rule that relates two variables.

The parent function is:

f(x)=cosx

We know the period of the parent function is 2π and the amplitude is 1.

For an amplitude of 3, we need to multiply the parent function by 3.

So, the function with amplitude 3 will be given by:

f(x) =3cosx

For a period of 4π,  we need to make the argument of the parent function half.

So, f(x) = 3cos(0.5x)

A horizontal shift of negative π means, f(x) will become f(x+π)

So, f(x) =3cos(0.5x+\pi ).

Therefore, the general equation of a cosine function with an amplitude of 3, a period of 4 π, and a horizontal shift of negative π is f(x) =3cos(0.5x+\pi ).

Can anybody help me with this question?
Bogdan [553]
For number 16 we need to write the data as a ratio then convert to a unit rate (amount per 1)...

308/14 = x/1

Cross multiply

14x = 308
x = 308/14
x = 22

So the fuel efficiency is
22 miles per 1 gallon or

22/1

For number 17, since the car was driven at 48 mph, we just have to divide distance driven by speed to get how long it took...

288 miles ÷ 48 mph =

6 hours
