"Ambush" is one of the stories included in the anthology The Things They Carried by American author Tim O'Brien.

In this story, the character Tim O'Brien remembers his experiences during the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War was a conflict that lasted from November 1955 to April 1975, although American involvement ended in 1973. The war is an example of the series of proxy-wars that occurred during the Cold War.

Explanation:

Walt Whitman wrote the poem, "Song of Myself". The poem has been written in free verse. Whitman wanted the poem to reach the maximum of people. He kept the words and phrases to be simple and subtle. The poet praises and admires himself as an individual. Whitman uses the simple style and verses to point the common things and their significance in life. There is much symbolism used in the poem which indicates not just an individual but the nation as a whole.

In the text, the author claims that the Hero's Journey requires a main character who
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

No.

Explanation:

A main character can have any morality whether that be good or bad. Hero's journey is a template for writing a story as such, but it's an informal fallacy to say all main characters are heros.

An ideal fictional hero would be one who has relatable qualities and isn't a 'dues ex machina'. One who makes it out alive just because. I prefer one who works hard to achieve their goals in selfless acts.

Guts from berserk personally is my favorite hero. He starts off his hero's journey as a knight/sword for hire without a purpose and slowly finds his purpose when forced to join a mercenary group known as the band of the hawk. It's interesting because for once, we see a character find his reason for his existence rather than have one in place for him.

hope this helps :)
