Since we couldn't find any red paint, we painted the doghouse green. When we were done, everybody seemed to think green was a go
victus00 [196]

Answer:

The doghouse was painted green because they couldn't find any red paint.

Explanation:

According to the passage, the narrator and others were not able to find red paint for the doghouse. That is the reason why they used the green paint they already had. Though they did have money to buy red paint, using the green one seemed to make everyone happy, including the poodle, Pierre. So, simply put, the doghouse was painted green because there was no red paint to be used.

Ever since I [Justine) was condemned, my confessor has
timofeeve [1]

She’s possibly trying to evoke pity, fear, a sense of injustice, or even make the reader feel a sort of sadness because you know that the person you are reading about is getting hurt emotionally. Something we individuals find despicable and inhumane. Also, threatening and menacing a person with hell fire in their last moments of living is pretty evil because God is a generous person who doesn’t cause grief and if the person believes such lies they will not only die unhappy but they will also become fearful to even die.

According to the selection of worms of earth against the lions the governments slowness in reacting to the rebellion was partly
aleksley [76]

Answer:

The author was trying to convey the apathetic attitude of the rich towards the workingman.

Explanation:

The terms used by the author highlighted the negative ways the rich French class and the ruling class viewed the poor workingman. The term louts for example means an uncouth or aggressive person while the term Jack was used to describe the ordinary man who rendered services to the rich.

The author's use of these terms would help the reader to see how lowly the government thought of the poor to the extent that they failed to consider them and were taken unawares at the peasants' revolt.
