The rivalry between Russian and British empires in central Asia was known as Great Game. It started in 19th century and continued through 1907. During the game Britain tried to control central Asia so that it could isolate its colony India from the Russian danger.
Russia under the Tsar was expanding its territory and sphere of influence and had conquered the tribes and khanates on its southern borders. Afghanistan, Persian and Tibet became the borderline between the two empires. The rivalry ended with Anglo-Russian convention of 1907. It divided Persia into three zones, north zone was controlled by Russia and southern zone by Britain. It also decided the borderline between the two empires in Asia.
<span>The issue of slavery was largely responsible for the party realignment that followed the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 because Abraham was the one who fought for the rights of black people in USA and he was the one who killed the racism.</span>
