How do you figure out longitude and latitude...

Your question could mean one of two different things.

You could be asking "How do I figure out the longitude and latitude
of, let's say, Killeen, Texas."

The answer to that is: You look on a map or a globe that has latitude
and longitude lines printed on it, find Killeen, Texas, and estimate its
coordinates as well as you can from the lines printed nearest to it.

Or you could be asking "If I'm out in the middle of the ocean at night,
how do I figure out the longitude and latitude of where I am ?"

I'm afraid the answer to that is far too complicated to write here.
All I can say is: The science of "Navigation" was developed over a period
of hundreds of years. If you look at the history of sea exploration through
the centuries, you see how the explorers ventured farther and farther from
their home ports as time went on. The reason for that is that they were
developing better and better methods of figuring out where they were as
they sailed.

And about 20 years ago, that all changed. Drastically. Now, anybody at all
can walk into his neighborhood sporting-goods store, and buy a little device
that fits in his shirt pocket or in the palm of his hand, and whenever he has a
view of the sky, it can give him the latitude and longitude of the place where
he's standing, more accurately than the best navigators in the US Navy or
the British Armada could ever calculate it before.

That was when countries started putting up bunches of little satellites
to broadcast signals to our pocket receivers.

The satellites that the US put up are called the Global Positioning System . . .
the GPS.

Longitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies the east-west position of a point on the Earth's surface.

Latitude is the angular distance of a place north or south of the earth's equator, or of the equator of a celestial object, usually expressed in degrees and minutes.

Which of the Jovian planets experiences a dramatic seasonal change?
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

A. Jupiter.

Explanation:

 • As Jupiter has the largest planetary atmosphere its lacks a clear boundary and gradually transitions to the liquid interior of the planet. Having their temperature gradient.
 • The jovian atmosphere has a large range of active phenomena including the band instabilities and anticyclones, and cyclones and storms and lightning.
 • These cyclones are large red, or brown such as the Great red spot of Jupiter. Hence, Jupiter has the most powerful type of storms being accompanied by the convection in the atmosphere as the striking of lightning from the clouds in 10 times more stronger than on earth.
 • Jupiter also consists of upper clouds, located in the low-pressure range are made of ammonia ice. Auroras are a permanent feature of the Jupiter's atmosphere based on the exiting models temperature predictions of the atmosphere are no higher than 400k.
 • Strong jets have been observed at the equator of the by the deep models. Temperature and winds are found to rise from the equator to the poles, thus confined within zones. As a comparison to the anticyclones, the jovian cyclones tend to be small dark and irregular.

Write an essay of 200 words comparing the ways in which command economies and market economies affect a worker's life.
aleksandrvk [35]

Characteristically, Command Economies are bad when it comes to a person interested in making a profit; this is because they typically center on economic equality and do not have economic efficiency. Speaking in general, in a command economy, the allocation of resources is done by a Central Planning Committee, and this system usually leads to quite a number of shortages and/or surpluses in products since the demand/supply can be impulsive. On the other hand, Market Economies are centered on profit-making and Economic Efficiency.

Essentially, how well resources are distributed among the public will determine how well people will be rewarded. Let’s take for instance, a parking lot like downtown; characteristically, a market economy will likely focus on how to place as many cars as possible in the lot and how to use the space to its full capacity, while a Command will most likely try to apportion the space so that (just for example) 3 small, 3 medium and 3 large vehicles are parked (economic equality).

Finally, with a market economy, there is likely to to be less shortages and less surpluses, since it works with the Law of Supply and Demand in which an equilibrium price will be automatically established through buying and selling.
