A mutation can allow a organism to adapt to the environment and example can be the case of the peppered moth which has two variations a white colored one and a black colored one. The white colored ones were able to survive better that the darker ones because of how they were able to camouflage with the lichen located in the trees. However, after a while smoke particles that were released by industries darkened the trunk of the trees making the white moths visible and allowing the darker colored ones to survive. Another example can be on how organism can be resistant to bacteria this allows the animal to survive and reproduce offspring with the same mutation. I hope this helps...

When plants make flowers, gene A is expressedin whorls 1 and 2, gene B is expressed in whorls 2 and 3 and gene C in whorls 3 and
Sati [7]

Answer:

The correct answer would be option D) no gametes.

Explanation:

The ABC model of the flower was formulated to describe the collection of genetic procedures that determines floral organs in several plants. These species consist of four whorls which are sepals, petals, stamens, and carpels. These whorls are expressed by the expression of a number of genes present in each whorl or verticli.

Gene A is solely responsible for the sepals while the co-expression of A and B genes are responsible for the petals. The identity of the stamens is expressed by B and C and the carpels require C and D genes to be active.

The homozygousity for a normal mutation in gene C will lead to inactive or lack stamens and carpels, which are male and female reproductive organs. These are an important structure for forming gametes.

Thus, the correct answer would be option D) no gametes.

Write your question here. We can't read your mind. Yet.
Nataly [62]
Let’s think about this, we can already cross out D because that is the small intestine’s function, that isn’t a picture of the small intestine.

We can also cross out A for the answers because the gallbladder is the organ that creates bile and that once again isn’t the picture of that organ.

That leaves C and B.

The stomach produces pepsin and makes hydrochloric acid, this isn’t a picture of the stomach, so that leaves you with C.

The answer to your question is C, since this is a picture of the pancreas, and the pancreas’ job is to produce enzymes that breaks down carbohydrates.
