1 2/4 = 6/4= 2/3 because you first change it to an improper fraction and the because both the top and bottom are divisible by 2 you simplify them

we know the circumference shown for that picture is π miles, what would it be for the diameter?  namely how long is the diameter of that circle whose circumference is π miles?

\bf \textit{circumference of a circle}\\\\ C=\pi d~~ \begin{cases} d=diameter\\ \cline{1-1} C=\pi \end{cases}\implies \pi =\pi d\implies \cfrac{~~\begin{matrix} \pi \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}~~}{~~\begin{matrix} \pi \\[-0.7em]\cline{1-1}\\[-5pt]\end{matrix}~~}=d\implies 1=d

A single card is drawn from a deck. Find the probability of selecting
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

A. 1/2.

B. 15/26.

Step-by-step explanation:

Note when you have an 'OR' in the statement we <u>add </u>the probabilities.

A .  Club or a diamond . There are 13 clubs and 13 diamonds so

The Required Probability =  13/52 + 13/52

= 1/4 + 1/4 = 1/2.

B. There are 4 jacks and 26 black cards.

The Required Probability =   4/52 + 26/52

= 1/13 + 1/2

= 2/26 + 13/26

= 15/26.

Please help, don’t understand. For #14 what would the input of the function be?
Goryan [66]

a)

h(t) , namely "h" variable is being represented in terms of "t".

h = dependent variable, depends on the value of "t", output.

t = independent variable, takes on values freely, input.

b)

\bf \stackrel{\stackrel{h(t)}{t=1.4}}{h(1.4)} = \stackrel{h=12.8}{12.8}~~ \begin{cases} t=1.4~~&\textit{after 1.4 seconds}\\ h=12.8~~&\textit{the ball is 12.8 meters up} \end{cases}

c)

\bf h(2)=-5(2)^2+14(2)+3\implies h(2)=-20+28+3\implies h(2)=11

after 2 seconds, the ball is 11 meters high up.
