You can simplfy but not solve

distributive preopotty
a(b+c)=ab+ac

fist simlify all inside parenthasees
-2+8v-6v
-2+2v

now we have
-6+2(-2+2v)
distribute
2(-2+2v)=2*-2+2*2v=-4+4v

now we have

-6-4+4v
-10+4v is simplfied form
