Hi!

Here's a little trick ;)

When dividing, you move the decimal point to the left

In this number, (1000) there are 3 zeros. Move the decimal point (which is currently behind 7) 3 places to the left

It becomes 0.067

So 67 divided by 1000 is 0.067

NOTE: This trick isn't going to work on all problems, only with numbers like this (1000, 100, etc) so please don't try this on all your questions.

The smallest number is 67/1000, then 0.672, then 68%, then 0.7, and the largest is 0.7

Which ordered pair does NOT lie on the graph of h(x)=-2x + 7
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine if the ordered pairs lie on the graph, substitute the x- coordinate of the point into the equation and if the value agrees with the y- coordinate of the point then it lies on the graph

A

x = - 2 : y = -2(- 2) + 7 = 4 + 7 = 11 ≠ 3 ← (-2,3) not on graph

B

x = - 1 : y = - 2(- 1) + 7 = 2 + 7 = 9 ← (- 1, 9) lies on graph

C

x = 3 : y = -2(3) + 7 = - 6 + 7 = 1 ← (3, 1) lies on graph

D

x = 4 : y = - 2(4) + 7 = - 8 + 7 = - 1 ← (4, - 1) lies on graph

Please help me out!
seropon [69]

Answer:

Second option

Third option

Fourth option

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following quadratic function

f(x) =(x-1)(x+7)

Use the distributive property to multiply the expression

f(x) =x^2+7x-x-7

f(x) =x^2+6x-7

For a function of the form f (x) = ax ^ 2 + bx + c the x coordinate of the vertex is:

x =-\frac{b}{2a}

Then in this case the coordinate of the vertex is:

x =-\frac{6}{2(1)}

x =-3

To obtain the y coordinate of the vertex we evaluate the function at x = -3

f(-3) =(-3)^2+6(-3)-7

f(-3) =9-18-7

f(-3) =-16

Then the vertex is:  (-3, -16)

We can see in the graph that the zeros of the function are x=1 and x=-7

Then the function is decreasing from -∞ to -3 and then it is increasing from -3 to ∞

The function is positive for x and x> 1

The correct answers are:

Second option

Third option

Fourth option
