Answer:

She portrays the people as resilient to war.

Explanation:

Zlata Filipović is the author of the book The Diary of Zlata, in which she recounts the horrors she witnessed during the war in Sarajevo from 1992 to 1995

Zlata writes in her book experiences we will never experience: the life of a child during the war. She writes childishly and nonetheless, it is scary when she goes into detail of how the neighborhood gets desperate with the bomb attacks. Zatla states that even in the midst of despair and fear, people were resilient to war

In paragraph thirteen of "Let George Do It," find a word that means to cover or swallow up.
Sladkaya [172]

13) The skies were still blue, but a heavy cloud began to engulf George as he saw Papa coming slowly down the path. A strange feeling developed in his stomach. Now George realized what he had done. How would he face Papa? George's sensitive conscience was already hurting. In all the glory of this day, he had left a job undone and disobeyed his father. What would Papa do?

The word in this paragraph that means to swallow up is 'engulf'. In this context it means that George is overwhelmed by how he feels, his feelings of guilt are swallowing him up, they are taking over and are all he can feel. Engulf means to be completely surrounded, immersed by something that you can't control.

How are voice and word choice connected to research?
vlada-n [284]
Voice is the sound created by the writer and the perspective from which the piece is written; voice is created primarily through tone and point of view.

Tone is the way the writing sounds to the reader.  Is it serious, flippant, sarcastic, reasoned, witty, humorous, casual, or some mixture of these elements? Academic writing, such as research papers or case studies, often calls for a reasoned or serious tone. Some refer to this as a formal voice. Tone is created, in part, through word choice, ordiction.

Word choice is inextricably connected to “ voice”: that which connects the reader to the text and establishes a relationship between the reader and the author

Diction, or word choice, supports the tone that a writer hopes to convey. Thus, for a formal style, use “made a mistake” rather than “screwed up.” Words marked in the dictionary as “slang” or “informal” would not be good candidates to include in a formal paper.  However, if you were writing a narrative, then such vocabulary might be appropriate.
