In Ghana, the throne was Handed down through <span>matrilineal System.

When the king passed away, the Kingdom will track down the oldest female relative of the King (the oldest sister of the King would be the top priority).
And the throne would be given to the son of that sister, while King's own son must step back and exchange the position.</span>
