From Earth, we can see 2 types of eclipses – eclipses of the Sun (solar eclipses), and eclipses of the Moon (lunar eclipses). These occur when the Sun, Earth, and the Moon align in a straight or almost straight configuration. Astronomers call this a syzygy, from the ancient Greek word syzygia, meaning to be yoked together or conjoined.

The term eclipse also finds its roots in ancient Greek – it comes from the word ékleipsis, meaning to fail or to abandon.

Eclipses, solar and lunar, have fascinated scientists and lay people for centuries. In ancient times, eclipses were seen as phenomena to be feared – many cultures came up with stories and myths to explain the temporary darkening of the Sun or the Moon. In recent centuries, eclipses have been sought after by scientists and astronomers who use the events to study and examine our natural world. Solar eclipses can only occur during a New Moon when the Moon moves between Earth and the Sun and the 3 celestial bodies form a straight line: Earth–Moon–Sun.

There are between 2 and 5 solar eclipses every year.

There are 3 kinds of solar eclipses: total, partial, and annular. There is also a rare hybrid that is a combination of an annular and a total eclipse. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon completely covers the Sun, as seen from Earth.

A male bison charging another male bison is an illustration of which behavior?.
alukav5142 [94]

Bison are big mammals that belong to the family Bovidae. Male bison charging each other shows the competition among organisms of the same species.

What is the competition?

Competition is the ecological relationship between the organism of the ecosystem that can be positive, neutral or negative. It can be between species or among the member of the species.

Two bison fighting each other shows the competitive relationship between both of them as they both belong to the same species and can fight for territory, food, resources, reproduction and many others factors.

Therefore, the Bison charging shows competitive relationships among the same species.

IrinaK [193]
So, if the birthrate and the death rate are the same, that means that for every person that gets born, one person dies: so the number of people would stay constant. This means that the growth rate is actually 0%.

Appears to contain a multilobed nucleus. what is the most likely identity of the observed leukocyte?
Brrunno [24]

Neutrophil is the most likely identity of the observed leukocyte

What is Neutrophil ?

The most common type of granulocyte in humans are neutrophils, also known as neutrocytes or heterophils, which make up between 40% and 70% of all white blood cells. They are an essential part of the innate immune system, and they have different functions depending on the species.

The bone marrow-produced stem cells are differentiated into the neutrophil-killer and neutrophil-cager subpopulations. Due to their potential ability to access tissues that other cells or substances cannot, they have a limited lifespan and are very migratory. There are two different types of neutrophils: banded and segmented neutrophils (or bands). They belong to the same family of cells as basophils and eosinophils, which is known as PMNs.
